Dan Starkey - Varsity Head Coach

Coach Starkey played high school football at Streator Township High School and was an all-conference linebacker. He enrolled at Illinois State University and pursued a walk on opportunity with the football team in 1985, redshirting that season. He went on to earn four varsity letters for the Redbirds, playing linebacker and special teams from 1986-1989. Coach Starkey received a Bachelor’s Degree from Illinois State University in Physical Education in 1990 and has coached high school wrestling, track and field, volleyball and softball in addition to football, in his 28 years in education and coaching.

Coach Starkey was a part of the coaching staff at Wheaton Warrenville South High School that won football state championships in 1995, 1996 and 1998 and track and field state championships in 1996 and 1999. Coach Starkey has 15 years of experience as a high school head football coach at Glenbard South, New Trier and Lockport Township High School. Nine of Coach Starkey’s teams have made the IHSA play-offs with the 2008 and 2009 Glenbard South teams reaching the state quarterfinals. Coach Starkey and his wife Laurie are the proud parents of three former Porter football players. Bo (Class of 2009), Cole (Class of 2011) and Roman (Class of 2016), all had a great experience in the LTHS football program.

Ryan Russell - Varsity Defensive Line Coach

Coach Russell graduated from Downers Grove North High School in 1999. He played offensive guard his senior year and went to the IHSA Class 6A state semi-finals in 1998. His accolades included Silver Helmet Award Winner, West Suburban Conference Academic All Conference, West Suburban Conference Athletic All Conference, and named to the Suburban Life All Area Football Team.

Coach Russell received his bachelor’s degree from Easter Illinois University in 2003 and holds a Master's in Educational Leadership from the University of St. Francis in 2008 and a Master's in Educational Technology from Concordia University Chicago in 2014.

He has coached football for eleven years at LTHS and baseball for two years. Coach Russell has coached football at the freshmen, sophomore, and varsity levels on both Offense and Defense. He currently is the Varsity Defensive Line Coach.

Bo Starkey - Varsity Tight Ends Coach

Coach Bo, LTHS class of ‘09 is a former All-Conference football player at LTHS. Coach Bo played collegiately at St. Ambrose University, earning a degree in Physical Education. He is now working as a substitute teacher at LTHS while he earns a Master’s degree in Special Education at Lewis University. He has two years coaching experience at LTHS and is excited to be back with the Porters working to mold the lives of young men on and off the football field.

Mark Carmen - Varsity Running Backs Coach

After playing varsity football and baseball/track as a Porter, Coach Carmen graduated from LTHS in '71. He attended Southwestern College in Winfield, Kansas where he lettered in football and track as a freshman. After being drafted into the Army, he spent 16 months overseas as a military policeman. He returned home and played football at JJC and Elmhurst College. After graduating from Elmhurst with an English Education degree,he began his coaching career at JJC as receiver coach of a nationally ranked team. After two seasons at JJC, Coach Carmen began his high school teaching/coaching career at Bolingbrook High School. Coach Carmen moved to Rich East High School in 1980 where he coordinated the defense for Hall of Fame coach Bob Lombardi for the next six seasons finishing 12-1 in 1985. Coach Carmen moved on to Mount Carmel High School in Chicago in 1986 teaching English, coaching football, and coaching track. Over the next twelve years Coach Carmen was part of five state championships in football, two runner-ups, as well as a Chicago Prep Bowl Title. As head track coach at Mount Carmel, he was named the Tony Lawless Award winner as outstanding track coach in the Chicago Catholic League in 1998. In 1998 Coach Carmen became head football coach at Fenton High School in Bensenville, Illinois, and relished the opportunity to compete against Coach Starkey, who at the time was the head Coach at Glenbard South. After eight seasons as head coach at Fenton, Coach Carmen assisted Coach Tim Racki in rebuilding the football program at Nazareth Academy. Returning to Fenton as an assistant coach for one of his former assistant coaches, Coach Carmen retired from Fenton in 2016. Returning to Mount Carmel as an assistant for Frank Lenti, Coach Carmen enjoyed another Prep Bowl title as well as his thirteenth trip to the state semi-finals.

Cory Dillard - Varsity Offensive Coordinator

Coach Dillard played football and basketball at Lisle High School and is a 2005 graduate. Coach Dillard graduated from Northern Illinois University in 2009. Coach Dillard currently teaches physical education at LTHS and has 7 years of experience coaching football, including the last two seasons at LTHS. Coach Dillard also coaches in the basketball program during the winter season and in the girls soccer program in the spring.

Adam Decaire - Varsity Wide Receivers Coach

Coach Decaire played wide receiver for Lockport from 2000-2003 and was fortunate to be part of the Back-to-Back State Championships in 2002 & 2003. Coach Decaire has his sights set on returning Lockport back to the top and getting his Porter brothers a ring of their own!

Coach Decaire graduated from the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign and is entering his 8th season coaching at Lockport. He has served as the Varsity Wide Receivers Coach for five years and the Varsity Running Backs Coach for one season. He also was the Head Freshman Coach during the 2013 season before returning to the varsity staff. Coach Decaire and his wife Julie, who also teaches at LTHS, live in Manhattan with their two children, Jackson and Mila and their dog Bow.

Dave Pammer - Varsity Run Game Coordinator

Coach Pammer played high school football at Lincoln Way East High School. He played all five offensive line positions at Drake University as a four year starter, starting 42 games. Coach Pammer was a 3X FCS All-America selection and was fortunate to play for coaches currently coaching at the D1 level as well as in the NFL. Coach Pammer has eight years of experience coaching high school football at Lincoln Way East, West Chicago and Lockport Township High School, where he works as a guidance counselor. Coach Pammer resides in Frankfort with his wife of 8 years, Lauren and their two children, Ryan (2) and newborn Nora.

Pete Kishline - Varsity Defensive Backs

Coach Kishline enters his first year as a member of the Lockport football staff. Previous to Lockport Coach Kishline served as the Defensive line coach for the University of Wisconsin Whitewater from 2013-2016. During that time the Warhawks won two NCAA National Championships (2013 & 14’), and three WIAC conference championships (2013,14’,16’). Coaching the defensive line, Kishline coached All-American’s John Flood, Zach Franz, and Brandon Tamsett, with Tamsett earning WIAC Defensive Player of The Year honors. Under Kishline seven players earned All-WIAC recognition. In 2013 Kishline was part of the defensive staff that led the nation is scoring defense at 9.1 ppg.

Prior to UW-Whitewater, Kishline was a special education assistant and assistant football coach at Hartland Arrowhead High School, a Division I powerhouse in Wisconsin, from 2004-12. During his time at Arrowhead, the Warhawks won a pair of Wisconsin Interscholastic Athletic Association state titles and finished as runner-up twice. Kishline coached the defensive line, coaching four unanimous first team all-state selections, 14 All-Classic 8 honorees, including one Classic 8 Defensive Player of the Year, and 7 players who received scholarships from D1 college programs.

Kishline was a three-year letter winner at defensive tackle at UW-Whitewater from 1999-2002. As a graduate of Hartland Arrowhead, he was a part of the high school's 1996 Division I state championship team.
